Michael is the Managing Partner of Kline Hill Partners, a secondary fund dedicated to provide a highly professional and institutional level of attention and care to smaller deals within the secondary market.
Michael has been investing in private equity secondaries since joining Willowridge Partners in 2005. Over this time he sourced and led over 90 deals. Prior to this, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company where he focused on clients in the pharmaceutical, industrial, and financial industries. He has three years of additional private equity experience at Linux Global Partners and separately ran the operations of the successful 2003 turnaround of Vincent Longo. Prior to business school, in the 1990’s, he was a consultant at supply chain software firm Numetrix (now part of Oracle), before moving to Singapore to launch that firms Asia Pacific sales efforts. He received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School in 2000 and a B.S. in Operations Research and Engineering from Cornell University in 1993.
Kline Hill Partners, LLC is an independent investment manager dedicated to the secondary purchase of interests in primarily buyout and venture funds, but will also acquire real estate, energy and other types of private equity assets from existing investors seeking liquidity. Kline Hill also will purchase fund of funds and minority secondary direct positions in private companies that have strong existing financial investors. Kline Hill launched in the fall of 2015 with a target of $120 million of committed capital focused solely on private equity secondaries.
